Sergei Rachmaninov’s choral symphony The Bells was inspired and based on the poem with the same name by Edgar Allan Poe. The works is said to have been one of Rachmaninovs own favourites is in this concert performed by the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Choir, the Eric Ericson’s chamber choir and soloists under conductor Daniel Harding. Furthermore, Frank Peter Zimmermann in Edvard Elgar’s challenging violin concerto in b-minor, which is also known to have been one of the composers favorite works.
